Another serious traffic accident, this one on the Cedar Valley Road, sends two women to the hospital for treatment

The frequency of serious road accidents is becoming alarming as, within less
than 24 hours, two more people have been injured in traffic collisions.

This time around, two women sustained injuries during a collision on the
Cedar Valley Main Road on Wednesday afternoon, May 8.

Reports say that both motorists had to be transported to the Sir Lester Bird
Medical Centre for treatment following the accident.

It appears that the driver of a Jeep Wrangler was travelling from east to west
when she hit a pick-up carrying workmen. The vehicle reportedly then
collided with a Honda CRV travelling in the opposite direction.

Reports say the driver of the Jeep later emerged from the wrecked vehicle
without being assisted, but then collapsed.

Meanwhile, bystanders at the scene had to resort to breaking the rear window
of the CRV in order to remove that driver from the wreckage.

This incident follows one on Tuesday, May 7, in which 32 people were injured
in a three-vehicle smash-up on the Sir Sydney Walling Highway.

About 30 students and two adults were treated for minor injuries in that
incident, which involved a school bus, a truck, and an SUV driven by a police
officer, respectively.
