Rural North communities overrun with bushes, Quinn-Williams complains, and asks MP Fernandez to send clearing crew ASAP

While his constituents complain about the overgrown bush and
shrubbery at this time, when there is an elevation in criminal
activity, MP Charles “Max” Fernandez is missing in action. So says
Pearl Quinn-Williams, the United Progressive Party (UPP) caretaker
for St. John’s Rural North.

However, Quinn-Williams says, Fernandez’ absence is no new
occurrence, as this has been his modus operandi since being elected
nearly 10 years ago. And given his neglect of the people, it is
disgraceful that he was re-elected for a third term, she adds.

In the meantime, the UPP caretaker says the overgrowth of bush is
of great concern to Rural North residents, especially those in the
Marble Hill area, where the shrubbery is several feet high.

Therefore, Quinn-Williams is requesting that Fernandez
immediately dispatch a crew to clear the affected areas so that
residents might be at peace.

Meanwhile, the UPP caretaker reports that the Upper Yorks
community is still being impacted by flooding – in spite of at least
three bridges being constructed in the area.

She says the recent rainfall from Tropical Storm Philippe caused
serious flooding in the homes of some constituents; and what
appears to have compounded the matter was that the ghaut had not
been properly cleared of bushes.

Quinn-Williams says the sitting MP should do what the people of St.
John’s Rural North elected him to do and look out for their best
interest.
