Woman charged with dangerous driving related to teenage cyclist’s death, while Wallace is remanded on murder charge

Keithanya Elvin of Gunthorpes has been charged for the country’s second road death this year and has been granted bail.

The 22-year-old woman has been charged with dangerous driving and is alleged to have caused the death of Azorae Pennant of All Saints.

Elvin appeared before the court today, March 4, and was bailed in the sum of $20,000, with a cash component of $3,000 and two sureties.

She is to report to the Parham Police Station every Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday as part of her bail conditions.

Pennant, 15, was riding a bicycle on the Tyrells Main Road when the fatal incident occurred during the evening hours of January 26.

Nathaniel Wallace Jr. has been remanded to Her Majesty’s Prison on a murder charge after making his first court appearance in St. John’s Magistrates’ Court this morning, March 4.

The police charged the 38-year-old Villa man with the capital offence on Thursday, March 3, after he allegedly took the life of Christopher Smithers two days before.

Wallace Jr.’s committal proceedings have been set for May 12.

Smithers of Friars Hill Development was reportedly stabbed to death by Wallace Jr. during an altercation on St. John’s Street.

He succumbed to his injuries after being transported to the Sir Lester Bird Medical Centre.
