Peters makes a case for public servants to pay dues to the Public Service Association just like other unions

The Antigua and Barbuda Public Service Association is advocating
for the implementation of a system that will facilitate the payment
of union dues.

While the majority of public servants has not joined the union,
Association President Joan Peters notes that any successful
negotiations by the body are of benefit to all public-sector
workers.

She therefore posits that the Public Service Association should be
paid dues, as is the case with the Antigua & Barbuda Trades and
Labour Union and other bargaining agents.

Peters further underscores the challenges associated with
negotiating benefits, such as salary increases, and says that more
could be achieved if workers would only unite.
