CID receives reports of three woundings, one of which was captured on CCTV cameras

Three woundings are being investigated, including one in which a
victim was beaten by a group of unknown men.

Reports say that a doctor at the Sir Lester Bird Medical Centre
telephoned the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) and
reported that a Lower Gambles man had arrived at the Emergency
Room with a bleeding wound on the left side of his head and face.

According to reports, the young man had been in the vicinity of
Nunes Hardware when a fight between him and five unknown
persons broke out, during which he sustained stab wounds to his
head and face.

The incident occurred at about 2:20 a.m. on January 27, on Church
Street, and was captured on nearby CCTV cameras.

Meanwhile, a Cassada Gardens man alleges that he was struck in the
face with a hard object by an unknown person, and reported the
offence to the CID.

This reportedly occurred at about 6:30 p.m. on January 28 in Clare
Hall.

Reports say the victim was walking his dog in the vicinity of the
Clare Hall Secondary School when some unknown person used a
hard object to strike him in the face, rendering him unconscious.

According to reports, the man sustained an injury to the left side of
his face, leaving his jaw swollen.

In another incident, a DeSouza Road man went to the CID with a
bleeding wound to the top of his head and reported that it had been
inflicted by someone identified only as “Philmore,” from The Point,
with a shovel.

This offence reportedly occurred at about 12:15 a.m. on January 28
in The Point Area.

Allegations say the victim and the alleged offender got into an
argument, during which the Point resident went for a shovel and
struck the victim in the head, resulting in the wound.
And in other reports, a break-in was thwarted when the
homeowner apparently scared the would-be-thief off her property.

Reports say that an unknown person attempted to break into the
house of a DeSouza Road woman at about 4 a.m. on January 27.

She reported the incident to the CID, and investigations into the
matter have commenced.

Reports say the intruder apparently used a hard object in an attempt
to open a southern bedroom door.

However, the perpetrator was disturbed by the occupant of the
house and fled the scene before he was able to steal anything.

A search was carried out in the surrounding area for the alleged
offender but without success.
