Unknown man smashes Hennessy bottle into victim’s face during street event; police investigating

A man is nursing injuries sustained in a recent wounding incident that is now
under investigation by the Criminal Investigations Department (CID).
Reports say the 32-year-old Nelson Street victim sustained a wound near his
left eye during an altercation with an unknown man.

He was treated at the Sir Lester Bird Medical Centre, where he also had to
undergo a CT scan.

Reports say the man was at an event being held on Cross Street, on April 14, at
about 9:40 p.m., when the unknown male approached him and used a
Hennessey bottle to strike him on the left side of his face.

Apparently, the wound is not serious; but out of an abundance of caution the
doctors ordered the CT scan.

It was an Emergency 911 operator who reported the wounding incident to the
Police.
