Effects of COVID-19 pandemic still being seen in CSEC results, mathematics coach asserts

The effects of the COVID-19 pandemic on the national education
system continue to be felt, particularly in mathematics, Coach
Derrick Nicholas confirms.

While he has been offering lessons ever so often for over a
decade, Nicholas says he has had to step up and offer classes more
consistently since the pandemic, as many students were under-
served when the schools closed.

Nicholas says the post-pandemic CSEC results have served as a
further impetus for him to consistently offer lessons, as Antigua &
Barbuda cannot continue to lag behind the region in mathematics
passes.
