One of two suspects in the shooting death of Greenbay man surrenders to the Police; second man being sought

After reportedly surrendering himself to the Police, the man
suspected of fatally shooting a College Street, Greenbay, resident
remains in custody, being questioned about the incident.
 
Reports say the man turned himself in at the St. John’s Police Station
at about 4 p.m. on Thursday, December 7, accompanied by an
attorney.
 
Reportedly, he is taking responsibility for his part in the killing,
which claimed the life of Clifford Micah Watt. 
 
His identity is yet to be released by law-enforcement officers, while
a second man – believed to have been a part of the incident –
remains at large.

Earlier reports said that a Grays Farm woman had reported hearing
several gunshots and that one person had been shot, in the morning
of Tuesday, December 5.
  
The victim reportedly had been involved in an altercation and had
just arrived home. It is alleged that two men went to his house and
opened a hail of bullets, striking the house and allegedly hitting
Watts, who was indoors.
 
The 32-year-old father of three was then rushed to the hospital,
where he was pronounced dead upon his arrival at 9:36 a.m.
Watt’s death brought to 10 the number of homicides recorded in
Antigua and Barbuda for 2023.

There is evidence of the tragedy at his home, as the wooden
structure bears several bullet holes on the eastern and southern
sides of the dwelling.
 
A post mortem exam to determine the exact cause of Watt’s death is
pending.
