Police investigate sounds of gunshot near Government House and recover four spent shells

The Police are investigating an incident in which gunshots were
fired in the vicinity of Government House on Sunday morning,
October 29.
 
Allegedly, an on-duty constable stationed at Government House
telephoned the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) and
reported that he had heard several loud explosions of what
appeared to be gunshots.
 
The sounds came from the rear of Government House, in the vicinity
of the Family Dentistry building.
 
Reports say that officers responded to the report and went to the
scene, at the junction of Cross and Newgate Streets.
 
A search was carried out at the location and, allegedly, four spent
shells were found.
 
The scene reportedly was processed by the Forensic Evidence
Recovery Unit (FERU).
 
This incident reportedly occurred at about 6:10 a.m.
