DeFreitas begs Gov’t to make interventions – with finances, legislation, and collaboration – to tackle sliding state of affairs

The current state of affairs in Antigua and Barbuda – which includes
the youth crisis; the economic challenges; and several other
worrying matters – has been described by Franz deFreitas as “an
existential crisis” that requires the urgent intervention and
engagement of the Government.

DeFreitas, the United Progressive Party (UPP) caretaker for St.
John’s City South, says the Browne Administration has the financial
resources to deal with these many issues that are of concern to the
entire nation. And with the enactment of proper legislation, he says,
many of these matters can be addressed.

As it relates to tackling the issues involving young people, deFreitas
says that partnering with parents and other civic organizations
could also help.

But, instead of doing what the people elected them to get done, the
sitting ministers remain focused on self enrichment, the UPP
caretaker charges.
