Walker warns Simon that taking his eyes off the voters list will allow ALP to steal the SMS by-election from him

Barbuda MP Trevor Walker is advising former parliamentary
colleague Kelvin “Shugy” Simon – the United Progressive Party
(UPP) candidate for St. Mary’s South – to keep a close eye on the
voters list for that constituency.

This is a message that has been preached over and over, and
assurances have been given by the Party and Simon that there is a
team in place, and it is scrutinizing the list and paying close
attention to all transfers.

Walker refers to the fact that – some three days before the January
18 General Election – just over two dozen people were transferred
onto the Barbuda Register for Elections.

Accordingly, he warns, Prime Minister Gaston Browne and the
Antigua Labour Party will stop at nothing to retain the government.
He notes that padding the list is one such means, and Browne has
already admitted that this was done ahead of the recent elections.

A by-election should not be taken for granted, Walker says. And if
Simon is not vigilant he will have the elections stolen from him by
this unscrupulous administration, which appears to have certain
entities under its command.

Walker declares that he wants to see the back of PM Browne and the
ALP forever, and he admonishes the constituents of St. Mary’s South
to re-elect Simon, which would be the start of this drive.
