Nicholas says inquiry into Antigua Airways more important than ever as Air Peace is set to bring other West Africans here

General Secretary of the United Progressive Party (UPP) Senator
Shawn Nicholas says that more pressure will be coming from the
Party until its request for a public inquiry is considered.

The UPP and other concerned citizens have been calling for a
Commission of Inquiry into the Antigua Airways/African migrant-
smuggling saga for several months now, and recently concluded a
17-day picket of the Governor-General’s Office, followed by a march
and rally.

Sir Rodney Williams has maintained that he has no authority to call
an inquiry without the consent of the Cabinet.  But Nicholas says
that whoever has the vested power to undertake an inquiry should
do so, since the Party has no intention of putting the matter to rest.

Senator Nicholas says the issue has become more important now,
given that the Cabinet has announced that another Nigerian carrier,
Air Peace, is set to bring other West Africans here for the Carnival
festivities.

She says the Party and most residents are very wary of this
Administration and its continued failed ventures.
