Isaac says work just beginning for new UPP executive, and reports membership growth since 2019

The 12th Biennial Convention of the United Progressive Party (UPP)
is over, but work is only just beginning for its newly elected
executive.

Following a night of intense voting, some new names were installed
among the known players, who included Political Leader Jamale
Pringle and Chairman D.Gisele Isaac.

Speaking on Monday morning, April 22, after a packed week of
activities and a busy weekend, a tired Isaac said the new executive is
now charged with readying the troops for the UPP’s ongoing fight
against the Gaston Browne Administration.

Isaac says the work now begins in earnest, so there is no time for
the executive to rest on its laurels.

She says the whole Party must be galvanized, with a coming
together of all members and sharing the work that the people expect
of the UPP.

Isaac points out that the UPP has been going non-stop since the
January 18, 2023 General Election.

She notes that the polls were quickly followed by a legal challenge to
the election results in St. Mary’s South; the resignation of MP Kevin
“Shugy ” Simon; and the resultant by-election.

Then, soon after the Party had completed its Christmas-holiday
activities, she continues, preparations for the Convention went into
gear.

However, she reports that the UPP is on the ascension, with its
membership growing steadily while attracting good people.
Since 2019, when the last convention was held, and now, Isaac
boasts that over 500 people have joined the political organisation,
with over 100 already for the first quarter of this year, 2024.

According to the newly re-elected chairman, the Party is doing good
work that people are recognizing, thus inspiring others to become a
part of the UPP’s elevation and progress.
