Government ministers receive secret salary increase of 14% as of January 2023

The Gaston Browne Administration reportedly has awarded a
salary increase of 14 percent to its government ministers, and
sources tell REAL News the pay raise is retroactive to January
2023, apparently following the results of that month’s General
Election.

Accordingly, the base salary of $10,000 per month has now gone
to $11,400 – representing an extra 5 percent above the 9 percent
increase granted to public servants in January 2024.

Sources say the difference in salary for the last 15 months has
been approved and payment is expected to be made to the
ministers next week.

No mention of this increase was made in the Cabinet Notes of the
past year.
