Simon slams Browne Administration as the ‘most uncaring in history’ for its neglect of ordinary farmers

As members of the Gaston Browne Administration reportedly
position themselves to be players in the farming sector, the
accusation is that nothing is being done to assist those who have
been carrying the industry for decades.

This is the observation of St. Mary’s South MP Kelvin “Shugy” Simon,
who says the Cades Bay, Christian Valley, and Dunbars Agricultural
Stations are prime examples of the Administration’s lack of interest
in diversifying the economy.

Instead, what the Antigua Labour Party Administration cares about,
he charges, is self-enrichment.

According to Simon, many people are interested in farming; but the
systems to assist them are not in place. Accordingly, he says this is
the most uncaring government in the country’s history, with no
interest in advancing the country’s agriculture sector.

That was MP for St. Mary’s South Kelvin “Shugy” Simon.

In the meantime, critics note, while the prime minister has been
showing off the produce from his farm, weekly, with the tagline
“Food Security is a Must,” other farmers are catching hell, not having
even the basic necessity of water in this 21 century.
