Foundation Mixed School turns 85 and celebrates the late Guy Davis with pan in the park tonight

An Evening of Pan for Guy: This is how the venerable Foundation
Mixed School will be celebrating its 85 th anniversary at Victoria Park,
better known as the Botanical Gardens, tonight, Monday, March 4.
The primary institution, fondly called “Miss Davis School” for
decades, will be hosting what it describes as “a culturally elegant
evening” that features the pan music that was beloved by late
headmaster Guy Davis, in a session dubbed “From Church to
Cemetery.”

Patrons are advised to “wear comfortable shoes,” as organizers
apparently are expecting a dance session to break out as past
students remember Guy.

Other aspects of local culture, including poetry, will be featured, as
well.

The organizers also say that a bar will be on hand, along with
refreshments on sale, as the event is intended to double as a
fundraiser for the school.

In keeping with the theme, alumni and other supporters of the
iconic school adjacent to the Country Pond are encouraged to
purchase tickets – at $85 each.
