Thieves continue to target local businesses, with two break-ins and a larceny occupying police

Local businesses continue to be targeted by thieves and robbers,
with three businesses and a home falling victim most recently.

According to reports, thieves broke into the storeroom of an All
Saints villager’s mechanic shop and stole several items.

This offence reportedly occurred between 7:20 p.m. on January 23
and 7:30 a.m. on January 24, at Belmont, and the Criminal
Investigations Department (CID) was informed.

Apparently, the man had secured his storeroom, leaving all the items
intact, before going home. However, upon his return the following
day, he discovered that the northern section had been broken into.
The intruders apparently had used force to break a window and
open three louvres and then pried open a section of a burglar bar.

Once inside, they stole a battery charger, a compressor, 12 bottles of
coolant, 12 bottles of Castro oil, a dozen oil filters, a three-ton floor
jack, and a Pro Master tool kit.

Reportedly, several vehicles on which the victim was working were
also vandalized, with their glass parts broken.

In another incident, the cashier at Lighting Expo reported to the CID
that a solar-powered light, valued at $355, had been stolen from the
business.

This offence allegedly occurred sometime between 5:45 p.m. on
January 23 and 7:30 a.m. on January 24.

Reportedly, the solar light had been mounted and secured on a
column on the northern side of the building.

Officers carried out a search for the stolen item in the surrounding
areas, but without success.

Meanwhile, a Villa man, the owner of Los Mellos Bar Terrace,
reported to the CID that an unknown individual had broken into the
bar and stolen $200 in cash.

Apparently there were no signs of forced entry. However, the
money had been taken from a cash pan located beneath the counter
of the bar.

This offence reportedly occurred on January 19 in Villa.
In another instance, several large household appliances were stolen
from a Mango Lane, Clarks Hill, home.

Reports say the caretaker of the house, a Cashew Hill man, reported
to the All Saints Police Station that the house had been burglarized.
He claimed that a deep freezer, a washing machine, a refrigerator, a
microwave oven, a five-gallon bucket of paint, and kitchen and
bathroom sinks were stolen.

This offence reportedly occurred between 4:30 p.m. on January 23
and 11:30 a.m. on January 24.

Reports say the intruders gained entry into the house by using a
hard implement to pry open a northern single-hung window.

The stolen items were removed from the bathroom and kitchen, and
then the perpetrators reportedly exited through a northern
bedroom door.

A search was carried out in the surrounding areas for the stolen
appliances, but they were not found.

The Police are investigating all these incidents.
