Four bandits attempt armed robbery at a security firm but leave with no cash

A broad-daylight robbery was attempted at the Hawkeye Security
firm, where four masked men invaded its offices demanding money.

Reports say that the men, two of whom were armed with pistols,
made the move at about 12:30 p.m. on January 6 on Friars Hill Road.

Following the report made by the company’s managing director to
the Criminal Investigations Department (CID), officers visited the
scene.

Reportedly, an employee was sitting in the reception area when the
four masked men entered the business place, brandishing firearms.

Further reports say that one man – dressed in dark clothing, about 6
feet in height, slim in build – was armed with a black pistol.
He took the employee to the back of the business place and
demanded she hand over the money. However, she told him that she
had none.

At that point, reports say, one of the other bandits shouted to the
gunman and directed that they leave. All of them then ran off in an
easterly direction into some bushes.

A search was carried out for the intruders, but without success, and
inquiries into this robbery continue.
