Screams of Skerritts Pasture woman send two masked intruders running, empty handed

The efforts of two men to burglarize the home of a Skerritts Pasture
woman during the early-morning hours were thwarted by her
screams for help.

The alleged victim made a report of the incident to the Criminal
Investigations Department (CID), telling the Police that her home
had been broken into on November 18 at about 3:35 a.m.
Apparently, the victim had been asleep on her couch and was
awakened by two masked men, who broke in via a southern living
room window.

When she saw them, the woman began to scream for help, causing
the intruders to abandon their plans and flee from the premises
through a southern door.

They then ran in a westerly direction.
It appeared that the men had gained entry by inserting a hand
through the space created after they damaged a living-room
window.

Reports say they had used a piece of 2” x 4” wood to break the glass
of the push-up casement in the living-room.
Nothing in the house was reported stolen. However, a search was
made of the surrounding areas for suspicious persons.
No such persons were found, but investigations are ongoing.
