Wounded man discovered in abandoned Piccadilly building is suspected of involvement in hold-up and robbery in Falmouth

A man nursing multiple gunshot wounds was discovered in an abandoned building in Piccadilly this morning, October 27.

The Police say they are investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident in which the Grays Farm resident was shot.

He was found in the building shortly after 10 a.m. and was transported to the Sir Lester Bird Medical Centre for treatment.  The 30-year-old is now warded at the hospital and is said to be in stable condition.

Some persons are speculating that the man might be one of the two persons who robbed a supermarket owner in Falmouth early today.

During that incident, shots were fired; however, the Police reported, earlier, that there had been no injuries.

Until that is corroborated, the Police continue to search for the two men involved in the robbery.

Reports are that the supermarket owner had just arrived at his business when he was held up by two armed men and robbed of an undisclosed sum.

The perpetrators have been described as dark in complexion and dressed in dark clothing.  One of the suspects is said to be stocky, while the other, reportedly, is slimly built.

Anyone who can assist the Police with their investigation into the shooting of the Grays Farm man should contact the Dockyard Police Station at 460-1002 or call Crimestoppers at 800-Tips (8477).
