‘OLD ROAD FIGHT’ RESUMES AS VILLAGERS VOW NOT TO RELINQUISH THEIR LAND; COMMUNITY MEETING SCHEDULED FOR WEDNESDAY

Old Road residents are getting ready for a meeting tomorrow, Wednesday, June 9, to discuss an issue involving lands in their area.

Community activist Jameson “Kublai” Mannix accuses the Gaston Browne Administration of seeking to give seven acres of farmland to a Caucasian man, and says this cannot happen.

Mannix bases his objection on an agreement that reportedly was brokered between the Lester Bird Administration and the people of Old Road almost two decades ago.

The well-known community activist says the people of Old Road will continue to fight for their rights, and they will not be disenfranchised by a greedy government.

The meeting will be held at 5:30 p.m. at Morris Bay.
