Police create makeshift ‘morgue’ to store washed-up body parts after funeral homes allegedly refuse them

A location on the compound of the Police Headquarters is serving
as a temporary morgue, inside sources are alleging, after the
human remains found on a Yeptons beach reportedly were
refused by the local funeral homes.

The sources tell REAL News the Police removed the body parts
from the beach last Friday, April 5, with the expectation they
would be stored at one of the two private morgues.

However, the insiders claim that both refused – reportedly
because they are still owed significant sums by the Government.
It is alleged that a frustrated senior officer then took the
unidentified remains to Police Headquarters, with the intention of
storing them in a refrigerator there. However, his juniors
reportedly rebelled, refusing to allow the body parts inside the
appliance they all use.

The mutiny reportedly forced the police brass to procure $3,000,
with which a residential freezer was purchased, and the remains
have since been stored within.

Where the freezer has been located with its grisly contents was
not identified to our Newsroom, however.

The sources are said to be aggrieved over the situation, noting
that payment to the funeral homes appears not to be a priority for
the Administration, while money could be found to increase the
salaries of government ministers, as was revealed last Friday, as
well.

It is well known that the corpse of a man implicated in a 2010
homicide was stored for more than seven years by a local funeral
home.

The law was recently amended to allow the burial of bodies that
have been unclaimed by family members after a certain period of
time and notice.
