Thieves take off with horse, rope and stake from Belmont yard, while siblings lose fruits from Orange Valley farm

A Belmont man complained to the Criminal Investigations
Department (CID) that his animal – a brown and white horse valued
at $6,000 – has been stolen.

The man reportedly had secured the horse to a stake in his front
yard and gone to work. However, upon his return home, the horse,
rope and stake were all missing.

A search for the stolen animal was carried out but was unsuccessful.
Meanwhile, farmers on the southern side of the island continue to be
the target of thieves, with a Crabbe Hill woman being the most
recent victim of praedial larceny.

Reportedly, some unknown persons stole a quantity of pumpkins,
finger-rows, and pineapples from the Orange Valley farm operated
by the woman and her brother, a resident of Bolans.

Further reports say the intruders used a sharp object to cut the
produce from the vines, and broke two hands of finger-rows from
the trees.

The matter was reported to the Bolans Police Station.
