Armed robbers injure female pump attendant during another daylight heist at Sprugoos

Two men perpetrated another brazen daylight robbery – this one
resulting in a female pump attendant being injured – and are being
sought by the Police.

Reports say that Ace Enterprises, also known as Sprugoos Service
Station, was the target of robbers, for the second time in months, on
Saturday, March 9.

Further reports say the armed gunmen pounced on the
unsuspecting attendant, striking her with an object, before relieving
her of an undisclosed sum of cash.

The men, who were on foot, then made their escape the same way,
while the pump attendant had to be treated at the Sir Lester Bird
Medical Centre, reports add.

This offence occurred shortly after 4 p.m. at the Sir Sydney Walling
and Sir George Walter Highways location, just east of the
roundabout.

The incident is said to have shocked the other employees, as well as
the customers present.

The Police are appealing to anyone with information that could lead
to the apprehension of the robbers to contact the Criminal
Investigations Department (CID) at 462-3913, or Crimestoppers at
800-TIPS (8477).

In another incident, a man – alleged to have been the aggressor –
was shot by a police officer, and the incident is under investigation.
Reports claim the man was armed with a machete and was throwing
stones at the officer, who shot him in the hand during the alleged
attack.

The  victim was rushed to the Sir Lester Bird Medical Centre for
treatment of the injury he sustained.

This incident reportedly unfolded shortly after 9 p.m. on Saturday,
March 9, at a city casino where the officer works.
