UPP’s gathering momentum is inspiring persons to apply to become candidates, Tabor reports

As the United Progressive Party (UPP) continues with plans for its
biennial convention and readies itself for any early elections,

interest in the political institution appears to be growing in all
quarters.

This is according to Public Relations Officer Damani Tabor, who says
the Party is “gathering momentum,” with a number of applicants
coming forward to express interest in becoming candidates.

He reported that, in one constituency alone, there is interest from at
least five persons, while, in another, three people have signaled their
interest in representing the Party in the next general election, or any
elections called sooner than 2028.

Tabor is advising those putting themselves forward to familiarize
themselves with the philosophy of the Party in order to better serve
the institution and the people.

Meanwhile, with the recent resignation of Dr. Cleon Athill as
caretaker for St. Paul, Tabor says that several persons have already
shown an interest in contesting that seat.

He says the Party does not have to try to recruit persons, as they
have been coming forward on their own – having seen the
momentum the UPP has been building since the 2023 General
Election, when it took six seats in Parliament.

That was United Progressive Party Public Relations Officer
Damani Tabor.
