Yet another crime against visitors reported: Canadian couple loses belongings at Darkwood Beach

Crimes against visitors continue, with two Canadian citizens having
a number of items stolen while the couple was enjoying one of the
country’s beaches.

The matter was reported to the Johnsons Point Police Station by an
Urlings Village resident.

It is alleged that the woman’s wicker bag – containing money,
phones, glasses, clothing and house and car keys – was taken by
some unknown person.

Reportedly, the bag also contained a penknife, a Québec driver’s
license belonging to her husband, and a Visa credit card.
Apparently, the man had been swimming while his wife was lying on
the sand, taking in the sun, at Darkwood Beach.

Reportedly, she had placed her bag containing the personal items
and EC$25, with her beach towel, about 25 meters from the Sunset
Horizon Bar and Restaurant. But when she checked later, she
discovered it was missing.

A search was carried out in the surrounding area for the stolen bag,
but without success.

This offence reportedly occurred at about 11:45 a.m. on February
21.

Further reports say the visiting Canadians were staying at the Sea La
Vie Luxury Villa in English Harbour.
