Police officers booted out of temporary Bolans Station where Gov’t reportedly has failed to pay the rent

Officers at the Bolans Police Station – who had been relocated to a
space at the entrance of the Jolly Harbour compound – have been
booted out of their rented facility, sources allege to REAL News.

Reports claim the Browne Administration has failed to pay the rent
for the office suite that officers had been occupying since renovation
of their station began last year.

This embarrassing development reportedly has left the law-
enforcement officers “on the streets” with no place from which to
function.

The sources claim that all this has taken place while the minister
with responsibility for the Police, Sir Steadroy “Cutie” Benjamin,
remains mute on the matter.

Prior to the October 24 by-election in St. Mary’s South,
reconstruction of the original Station had been taking place at a
feverish pace, Bolans residents say.

But since the victory of Opposition candidate Kelvin “Shugy” Simon,
they report that the work appears to be stalled – just like other civil
works in the constituency.
