Nut Grove man shot in the arm during a hold-up that netted robbers $47 and a cell phone; his condition is stable

A Nut Grove man was shot during a robbery on Agatha Goodwin
Street, and the Police were notified of the incident by a doctor at the
Sir Lester Bird Medical Centre.

Reports say the doctor placed a call to the Criminal Investigations
Department (CID) after the victim showed up at the Emergency
Room with a gunshot injury to his left forearm.

The wounding incident reportedly occurred at about 10:50 p.m. on
December 2.

Allegations are that the victim was walking south on Agatha
Goodwin Street, when he was approached from behind by two
armed and masked men.

Reportedly, the taller of the two demanded that the victim
surrender his wallet, and the Nut Grove man removed it from his
pocket and handed over the $47 it contained.

The other robber then attempted to take a cellular phone from the
victim’s back pocket and, in the process, shot him on the
left forearm.

The victim was in a stable condition when he arrived at the
hospital; however, he was kept for observation.

Officers reportedly went to the scene to conduct investigations and
discovered a pool of blood.

One of the robbers is described as being about 5’10” in height, of a
slim build, fair in complexion, and said to be wearing a light grey
hoodie and a pair of black joggers. His accomplice is said to be about
5’11” in height and also of a slim build, and he was wearing a black-
and-white hooded shirt.

A search was carried out for them, but without success, and
inquiries into the robbery continue.
