Independence sermon tells the Nation it needs divine intervention to see its way through this crisis

A Methodist pastor is admonishing the Nation to turn to God and
seek divine intervention into some of the hardship the country is
enduring.

Many residents are praising the sermon delivered by Pastor Bonnie
Smith on Sunday, October 29, at the annual Independence Service of
Thanksgiving.

Smith did not hold back in addressing a number of issues affecting
the country, including the water crisis, the bad road infrastructure,
and the poor healthcare system.

According to the reverend, it appears that the Government needs a
miracle to enable it to deal with some of these matters.

Quoting Matthew 6:33, Smith reminded the congregation that if we
first seek God’s kingdom and His righteousness, then all other things
will be added unto us – a quote that was met with rapturous
applause.

Speaking directly to Prime Minister Gaston Browne, the pastor said
that God is able to provide multi-million-dollar ideas, if we allow
Him to lead us.

To move forward, Pastor Smith said, the people have to embark on a
quest, with God’s help and guidance, for new and creative solutions.

According to the pastor, when the Nation allows God to shape our
ingenuity, it leads to social, economic, political, psychological, and
religious healing and our possibilities are endless.

Since Sunday, residents have been commending Smith for
delivering what has been described as a “fearless sermon” that
spoke truth to power.

“That is the role of the church,” one woman tells REAL News. “Not to
tell men what they want to hear, but what they need to hear: the
truth.”
