Telecoms sector should be opened to greater competition so that consumers can benefit from better rates, Pringle says

Opposition Leader Jamale Pringle is calling for the telecoms sector
to be expanded for the benefit of consumers.

At present, residents are complaining about the high rates for
telephone and Internet services that are charged by the three main
telecommunications providers.

Accordingly, Pringle is calling on the Government to introduce a
telecommunications bill that opens up the market to greater
competition, which would benefit mainly the consumers.

Pringle, the Opposition leader, says that any investment must be
undertaken with the intention of making the people the
beneficiaries and improving their lives.
