UPP and ‘Shugy’ will host town-hall meeting in Urlings tonight to update constituents on by-election and development plans

The United Progressive Party (UPP) and Kelvin “Shugy” Simon, its
candidate for St. Mary’s South, will be updating constituents on the
way forward, as they prepare for a by-election, at a town-hall
meeting to be held on Monday, June 19.

This session follows the rejection of Simon’s resignation from the
House of Representatives by the Speaker, Sir Gerald Watt.  The
resignation was tendered on Wednesday, June 7.

Simon will be the featured speaker at tonight’s meeting, set to be
held at the Urlings Primary School. He will update constituents, and
the public, on his decision and the way to create a better community.

Political Leader Jamale Pringle and attorney-at-law Harold Lovell
will also discuss how the candidate’s decision will give the people
the power to choose – rather than the courts.

Damani Tabor, UPP public relations officer, says that constituents
and persons living in that area, as well as Party members, should go
out and hear Simon’s plans for St. Mary’s South.

When the by-election is called, Tabor adds, constituents should put
their “X” next to the UPP candidate’s name overwhelmingly, as they
did before, on January 18.

The event is expected to be broadcast live on Progressive Radio,
Observer Radio, and UPP TV, and on the Party’s social-media
platforms.
