Bolans man in custody after allegedly using stick to beat fellow villager

A Bolans villager was injured during a fight in the community on Monday afternoon, April 3, and the alleged perpetrator is assisting the police with investigations into the matter.

Reports say that a female villager telephoned the Bolans Police Station and reported that a fight was in progress and that someone had been injured.

Officers were dispatched to the scene, where  they met a 28-year-old man with a bleeding wound to the back of his head. Further reports say he also had bruises on his neck and arm.

The injured man was questioned by the police and reportedly told them his wounds had been inflicted by a 23-year-old fellow villager wielding a stick.

He was issued a Police Medical Form and taken to the Sir Lester Bird Medical Centre by the Emergency Medical Service (EMS).

A search was carried out in the area for the alleged offender, who was arrested and taken into police custody.
