United Progressive Party sends message of congratulations to new Grenada PM
Harold Lovell, Political Leader of the United Progressive Party (UPP) has sent a congratulatory message to the newly elected Prime Minister of Grenada, The Hon. Dickon Mitchell.
Here follows the text of that message:
Fraternal Greetings!
On my own behalf and that of the United Progressive Party (UPP), I am pleased to offer sincere congratulations to you, Prime Minister-Elect Mitchell, and to the National Democratic Congress on your victory in yesterday’s General Elections.
We are inspired by your success and the phenomenal reversal of the NDC’s fortunes, and we are heartened by the confidence the people of Grenada have placed in your leadership and your party’s capabilities.
We recognize the hurdles that lie ahead for your country as the region seeks economic recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic and faces the new challenges brought on by the war in Europe.
However, we are also confident that the intelligence, work ethic and resilience of the Grenadian people that you exemplify have already equipped you and your colleagues to meet and surmount these and any other obstacles you will face.
I take this opportunity to wish you and the NDC a successful and productive term that redounds to the benefit of Grenadians and all those who make their homes and conduct business there, and to pledge the fraternal support of the United Progressive Party in whatever way we can make a positive contribution.
Again, we sincerely congratulate the National Democratic Congress on its historic victory and extend our very best wishes to you, your colleagues and your people.
