BARBUDA COUNCIL HAS BEEN RECONSTITUTED, WITH FRANK AND WALKER

The Barbuda Council has been reconstituted officially, following local-government elections on March 29.

Barbuda MP Trevor Walker says this took place on April 12; and, as prescribed by law, new committees have been formed.

Walker says that Jacqueline Frank has been elected Chairman of the Council, while he is the deputy, as well as chairman of the Finance Committee.

Walker says all nine Council members will be working in the best interest of the people of Barbuda.

The Barbuda MP says that the Barbudans will continue the fight to keep their lands, which the Gaston Browne Administration seems to want to sell off to foreign interests.

Meanwhile, Walker expressed his thanks to the people of Barbuda for electing the Barbuda People’s Movement overwhelmingly.

He says the victory is historic, since it is the second time in modern memory modern that the BPM has won all nine Council seats in addition to holding the MP seat.
