Driver unhurt after vehicle flips in accident reportedly caused by sighting of a spider

A man is facing charges of dangerous or careless driving, after a spider allegedly caused him to run off the road in Villa on Tuesday night, June 14.

Reports say the man was driving his dark grey Honda FIT on Gordon Street, from west to east, when he reportedly spotted a spider in the car, which scared him and caused him to lose control of the vehicle.

As a result, the car slammed into a parked vehicle, flipped, and then landed on its roof.

The driver, who was alone in the vehicle at the time, escaped serious injury.

The Police are investigating the incident, even as residents weigh in on the unusual explanation – with some poking fun at the driver while others are sympathetic to the man’s reported phobia.
