In order to avoid traffic impediments, Traffic Head warns residents against hosting events without police permission

The Head of the Traffic Department is cautioning persons against hosting functions without first obtaining permission from the Commissioner of Police, especially if the events will impede the flow of traffic.

Assistant Superintendent of Police Rodney Ellis complains that events which block off roadways are being held, when no permission has even been sought to host them.

Once the necessary application is made and permission is granted, the Police will be on hand to ensure that traffic moves smoothly through the location, he says.

Ellis says this is an issue that officers have had to deal with in recent times, and he is again reminding persons that permission must be sought ahead of hosting any public function.
