Active COVID -19 infections are now just short of 200, while Health authorities implore residents to get vaccinated
The country’s active COVID-19 cases are almost at 200, after 40 new infections were confirmed.
The most recent report released by the Ministry of Health reveals that Antigua and Barbuda now has 193 active cases, as of Thursday, May 19. These take the number of lab-confirmed COVID-19 cases to a new total of 7,982.
The new infections were realized from 55 samples processed at the hospital.
There are three hospitalized cases – one severe and two mild – and 190 people are in isolation. The report says that 28 people recovered from the virus during this period.
The Health authorities continue to appeal to residents to get vaccinated, as the cases are increasing and more public functions – including fetes – are being held.
The country’s fully vaccinated numbers remain under 62,000.
