State of Emergency might be lifted by year-end, says PM Browne, since slow pace of economy cannot continue
The State of Emergency – now in its sixth extension – as well as other restrictions may be lifted by the end of this year, according to Prime Minister Gaston Browne.
Just like others, Browne says, he, too, wants to socialize. But, apart from socializing, he says the country cannot continue on this slow economic path.
Therefore, in order for there to be sustained growth, operations will eventually have to get back to normal.
In the meantime, Browne advises those who are not yet vaccinated to do so before the economy reopens fully; otherwise, he says, they stand the risk of becoming infected once things are back to some degree of normalcy.
