Low-magnitude quake recorded off Antigua early Tuesday morning, but no reports of residents having felt it

A low-magnitude earthquake was recorded in the vicinity of this country early this morning, December 13.

The UWI Seismic Research Center says it occurred at around 3:42 a.m. local time, at a depth of 43.1 km, and measured a magnitude of 3.9.  There have been no local reports of persons feeling the quake.

According to the Automatic Earthquake Location from the Centre, the tremor struck 60km northwest of the island and was registered by neighbouring islands, including St. Kitts & Nevis and Guadeloupe.
