Greenbay woman caught with illegal drugs – cannabis and cocaine –strapped to her body in Departure Lounge at V.C. Bird International

A No. 1 George Street, Green Bay, woman was caught at the V.C. Bird
International Airport attempting to export drugs out of Antigua and Barbuda.
 
Reports say the 30-year-old woman had the illegal drugs strapped to her body
when she was intercepted.
 
Reports say that, during a drug-interdiction operation at the Airport on
Thursday, May 30, officers from the Narcotics Department went to the
Departure Lounge at about 10 a.m. and met the young woman.
 
They asked to conduct a search on her person, during which three packages
were found concealed on her body.
 
Reports say that two of the packages contained a bushy substance resembling
the controlled drug cannabis, while the other contained a powdery substance
resembling the controlled drug cocaine.
 
The woman, along with the packages, was detained and taken to Police
Headquarters for further investigation.
 
The cannabis is said to have weighed 1.4 pounds and carries an estimated
street value of $3,500. The cocaine amounted to 42.5 grams, which have an
estimated street value of $1,487.50.
 
The woman now faces drug trafficking charges.
