Fire partially destroys a wooden house in Potters; building was insured, however

A house that was partially destroyed by fire is under investigation
by the Police and the Fire Department.

Reportedly, a 911 operator advised the Criminal Investigations
Department (CID) of the inferno in Potters Village, after the St.
John’s Fire Station had been alerted at about 1:40 p.m. on February
17.

A tender was immediately dispatched to the scene, where firemen
met a green wooden 18’x 28’ structure, with a galvanized roof,
ablaze.

In spite of their efforts, however, the structure was partially
destroyed.

A Potters man, the caretaker of the house – which reportedly is
owned by Lincoln Warner who lives in the United States – says the
proprrty was unoccupied.

However, electricity was attached to the house, which was insured
with Anjo Insurance.

Fire officials say the origin of the fire is currently unknown.
