US couple robbed at Yeptons Estate by purse-snatcher, while wounded man collapses in police station

A visiting United States couple were the target of robbers, who stole
their money and a cell phone.

Reports say that a man who hails from California telephoned the
Grays Farm Police Station and complained that his wife had been
robbed of her purse, which contained various credit cards, an
undisclosed sum of money, and her iPhone SE valued at US$300.
This offence, which reportedly occurred at 12 p.m. on February14 at
Yeptons Estate, is now under active police investigation.

Further reports say the couple were walking in a southern direction,
while a male, dressed in a yellow shirt and dark-coloured pants, was
going in the opposite direction.

The unmasked man passed them; however, he immediately turned
around and grabbed the woman’s purse and then pushed her into
some nearby bushes, causing her to sustain minor bruises to her
hand and feet.

The robber then ran in a northerly direction.
The victim was issued a Police Medical Form,  but apparently
declined it.

A search carried out in the surrounding areas for the stolen items
yielded no success.

And in another incident, a wounded man who sought help from the
Police collapsed in front of officers at the Grays Farm Police Station
at about 12 p.m. on  February 14.

Reports say the resident of Din Din Road appeared at the station
with a bleeding wound to his head and his left arm and fell to the
floor.

The Emergency Medical Service (EMS) was summoned to the station
and the injured man was transported to the Sir Lester Bird Medical
Centre.

A search was carried out for the alleged assailant – about whom no
details are known – but without success.
