Police still pursuing investigation into beating and robbery in Mount Pleasant

Investigations continue into a robbery during which a Mount
Pleasant man was beaten and robbed by armed gunmen.

The report of this incident was made to the Langfords Police Station
via an emergency 911 call by another resident, who complained that

three masked gunmen had committed the offence at her home,
where they beat and robbed the victim.

Officers later arrived on the scene and saw the victim sitting on the
veranda of another neighbour, with blood running down his face
and on his clothes.

This offence reportedly occurred at about 10 p.m. on January 27.
Reports say the victim had just arrived at the residence to deliver
food when he was attacked by the trio of bandits.

Allegedly they proceeded to beat him about his body with their guns
and hands and kicked him, as well.

The bandits then robbed him of his gold chain and $3,000 in cash
before fleeing from the scene in the victim’s silver Toyota Yaris,
registration number A16952.

The Emergency Medical Services (EMS) was summoned to the scene
and the victim was transported to the Sir Lester Bird Medical Centre
for medical attention.

A search was carried out in the surrounding areas for the stolen
vehicle and the alleged robbers, but without success.
