Defence Force adds to its ranks, as 22 recruits take their oath and begin three months’ intense training

More soldiers have been added to the staff complement of the
Antigua and Barbuda Defence Force (ABDF), as it welcomed 22
recruits to its ranks in a solemn attestation ceremony last Friday,
January 5.

The ceremony, held at the Camp Blizzard headquarters, marked the
introduction of these young persons to military service.

In a move signifying their commitment to the responsibilities and
duties associated with serving in the Defence Force, the recruits
took their oaths.

Over the next three months, they will undergo intensive training,
which is aimed at equipping them with the skills and knowledge
essential for their roles as dedicated soldiers.

This thorough training period is designed to prepare the young men
and women for the challenges they may come across in the line of
duty and to contribute to national security.

The ceremony was attended and celebrated by military officials,
family members of the recruits, and other distinguished guests.
