No suspects detained, so far, in fatal shooting of 24-year-old Yorks resident

No one has been detained, so far, in connection with the country’s
first murder this year.

Exactly one week into 2024, a Yorks Village man, 24-year-old Kieron
Hutson, became the country’s first homicide victim, and the Police
continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding his death.

Reports say that Hutson was shot multiple times about the body on
Sunday night, January 7, in the Christian Street, Grays Farm, area.

He was rushed to the Sir Lester Bird Medical Centre by the
Emergency Medical Services (EMS), but attempts to save his life
proved futile.

Hutson, who also goes by the moniker “Cracker,” allegedly was
approached by a gunman, who opened fire on him shortly after 7:30
p.m.

The circumstances leading to this most recent shooting death are
not known at this time. Accordingly, the Police are appealing to
anyone with information to contact the Criminal Investigations
Department (CID) at 462-3913.

The country recorded 10 homicides in 2023.
