robbery of Cedar Valley superette and subsequent police chase

Two men remain in police custody and are assisting with
investigations into the robbery and subsequent police chase that
took place on Wednesday, November 29.

Reports say the men were nabbed during an early-morning police
raid on a house in Five Islands on Thursday, November 30, and
items in their possession are believed to be stolen goods.

A third man, who allegedly evaded officers by jumping from a two-
storey building and fleeing from the area, is now being sought.

The trio is believed to have led the Police on a chase through St.
John’s after allegedly robbing a superette in Cedar Valley on
Wednesday afternoon.

Reports say the men could not out-run the Police, and so they
abandoned the vehicle in St. Johnstons Village and fled on foot,
leaving their loot – the cash register and cell phones – in the vehicle.

The car, a Toyota Mark X, has been seized and taken to Police
Headquarters pending further investigations.
