Pringle says PM Browne needs all the time he can get to prepare George for a licking in the SMS by-election

The United Progressive Party (UPP) is not bothered by the fact that
Prime Minister Gaston Browne has not yet announced the date of
the by-election in the St. Mary’s South constituency.

Political Leader Jamale Pringle says that, personally, he does not
believe the prime minister wants to announce the date, given the
amount of “licks” predicted for Antigua Labour Party (ALP)
candidate Dwayne George.

Pringle says that, having been campaigning on the ground with the
Party’s candidate, Kelvin “Shugy” Simon, Simon’s prospects are
looking very good.

Accordingly, he is expressing confidence that Simon will win the by-
election and the seat will be returned to the UPP.

In the interim, Pringle says, the Party is using this period to touch
base with constituents, listen to their concerns, and offer them some
solutions.

Meanwhile, the UPP political leader is guessing – based on
pronouncements by PM Browne himself – that the poll in St.Mary’s
South could be held between October 20 and 24.

Pringle says that Browne needs all the time he can get, since the new
candidate contesting in place of Samantha Marshall – Dwayne
George – would need to show his value in order to be impactful.
