Application period for Chevening Scholarships opens next week; future leaders encouraged to pursue studies in the UK

Antiguans and Barbudans who wish to pursue studies in the United
Kingdom (UK) are being invited to apply for a Chevening
Scholarship online – via chevening.org/apply – between September
12 and November 7, 2023.

Applicants must demonstrate that they have the commitment and
skills required to create positive change and can show how a UK
master’s degree will help them do that.

There are more than 1,500 scholarships on offer globally for the
2023/2024 academic year, demonstrating the UK’s ongoing
commitment towards developing future leaders.

The Chevening Scholarships cover a range of disciplines and are
awarded to persons from all backgrounds. They offer full financial
support for any eligible master’s degree, at any UK university, and
allow scholars to access a wide range of exclusive academic,
professional, and cultural experiences.

The call for new applicants follows the selection of 15 scholars from
Barbados and the Eastern Caribbean – including Curtis Cornelius, an
Antigua and Barbuda citizen – for the 2023/2024 awards.
The names were announced on August 14 by the British High
Commissioner, H.E. Scott Furssedonn-Wood.

Since the programme was created in 1983, over 50,000
professionals have had the opportunity to develop in the UK
through Chevening,
