Church broken into and TV set stolen, while private school loses musical instruments to robbers

The Police are investigating two incidents of larceny – involving a church and a private school – in which electronic items were stolen.

According to reports, the senior minister of Restore Your Crown Caribbean Centre, located at South Street, informed the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) that some unknown person had broken into the church and stolen a 48-inch television set.

The church is located on the second floor of a three-storey building, and the intruder apparently used force to break the bottom half of a wooden door to gain entry.

The scene has been processed for fingerprints among other evidence.

This act of sacrilege reportedly occurred sometime between 9 p.m. on February 20 and 7 a.m. on February 21.

Meanwhile, an unknown person allegedly broke into the Grace Christian Academy on Rowan Henry Street and stole a number of musical instruments.

The music teacher at the private school, which is located on the same compound as a church, made a report of the incident to the CID.

Reportedly, the perpetrator stole a Yamaha keyboard, two cream-and-white YMC’s,  and one black-and-red guitar.

Reports say the teacher pointed out to officers a western room on the first floor, where the intruder apparently had used a hard implement to gain entry and remove the items.

This criminal act occurred sometime between 3:30 p.m. on February 14 and 2:15 p.m. on February 21.
