Watts tells fellow Candidates to ignore the ALP’s mindless chatter – but they should leave no personal attack unchallenged

Candidates of the United Progressive Party (UPP) are being urged not to be distracted by the Antigua Labour Party’s mindless rhetoric, but to remain focused on the goal.

This election cycle, it appears that the Antigua Labour Party’s campaign strategy is to engage in name calling, insults, lies and having its supporters engage in propaganda.

Algernon “Serpent” Watts, the UPP Candidate for St. George, says the Labour Party’s tactic is to attack the Leader of the UPP and any other intimidating member of the slate.

Therefore – in pursuit of rescuing the country from a gang of greedy, money-hungry savages – Watts is appealing to his colleagues to ignore the chatter and noise and push ahead with their campaigns.

However, while Watts is advising his colleagues to ignore the talk, he warns that personal attacks against them should not go unchallenged.

He notes that UPP Political Leader Harold Lovell chose to ignore such vilification; and, to this day, some of the Labour Party’s lies are being repeated and held by some persons as truth.
